So, you want to sing or play the piano and you are wondering if online lessons actually work. The answer is absolutely! I am an accomplished and accredited music teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience. Whether you are a beginner who wants to work on basic technique, you are preparing for an audition, or you just want to learn to play some fun songs, I am confident that I can guide you and help you obtain the results that you want!
1. What Are Online Voice/Piano Lessons?
Online lessons are like the more familiar singing/piano lessons except that the teacher and the student are not in the same room together. While you and I are in different locations, we are still connected by the internet. If you have a stable internet connection, a web cam and a good microphone, there is no reason why you can’t take advantage of online lessons. If you are interested in piano, having a keyboard or piano is absolutely necessary! You may also be required to purchase lesson books.
My experience has been that a Zoom meeting provides the best results. I will send a meeting link via email and all you have to do is click on it to begin your lesson!
2. The Advantages of Online Lessons
For those of you who are on the fence about the idea of learning music skills online with an instructor, it helps to point out some of the positive features for online lessons.
-
Saves Time and Energy
Online lessons save you both time and energy. Our time is more important to us than ever in this busy and hectic world. By taking lessons online at home, you will save time driving to and from lessons. Commutes can cause additional stress to our already stress-filled lives. Definitely more convenient!
-
Saves Money
Online lessons take place in the convenience of the instructor’s office or home. This makes the online lessons, generally, less expensive than the more traditional music lessons. In addition, students or parents don’t have to worry about spending their hard-earned cash on buying gas and traveling to and from lessons. Saving both time and money means you are more likely to be fully committed to your lessons and less likely to cancel them.
-
Recording Lessons
Being able to record your online lessons, is a definite advantage. You can use your recordings to chart your progress and encourage you. I am also able to record/provide accompaniment tracks for you to practice with or even send you demonstrations of songs you are currently working on.
